About Me

Jeff was born in Hong Kong, spending the majority of his life growing up in the Pearl of the Orient. He graduated from the University of Exeter in 2020, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and International Relations, going on to graduating with a Masters of Journalism from the University of Hong Kong. His career in journalism and media began in Exeter, where he hosted a morning radio program on the university’s campus radio station, XpressionFM 87.7.

While he still has an appreciation and love for radio and podcast production, his work has since focused on visual media productions, specifically taking part in ventures that include photojournalism, video, and documentary production. Jeff was part of the Al-Jazeera English documentary team during the 2019-2020 Hong Kong protests, where his contributions helped produce a documentary broadcasted on Al-Jazeera English titled “People and Power – Hong Kong’s Summer of Defiance”. In addition to his work with AJ English, he has worked as a freelance photo- and videojournalist, primarily capturing moments during the beginning of the protests in Hong Kong.

He most recently worked with Annie Lab, a student-led fact-checking project launched by HKU Journalism.
